The model SCU-10 converts the extreme non-standard video signal to the DVI signal enabling the LCD monitors to display
it.
The SCU-10 works with the UXGA and/or the SXGA color LCD monitors providing DVI input.
This unit gives you solutions against problems which happen when connecting the video signal from the modality
to the LCD monitors.
● Picture has gone when changing the monitor, though the signal is coming....?!
⇒ Video signal from the modality is non-standard. The monitor can not synchronize to the coming sync, so no picture is shown on screen.
● The circle looks oval ! It's only a part of the picture !
⇒ The aspect ratio is lost. Relationship between image size and picture size is lost.
The SCU-10 can carry any aspect ratio, 1 by 1, 16 by 9 and so on .
Also, the SCU-10 estimates the input picture size, so it can show whole picture on the screen's image size.
● The black and white picture is diplayed in single green, red or blue !
⇒ Color LCD monitor shows black and white picture only when the same signal is applied to the R,G and B input.
But output signal from the modality comes with a single cable !!
If you apply the signal to the SCU-10, monochrome picture is reproduced on the color LCD monitor.
Functions and Feature
◆Single channel processing with 2 signal input
2 signal input furnished with different type of connectors. One is BNCs and another one is VGA(HDB15).
Signals can be supplied to both input simultaneously. The unit is always watching the input,
and selects automatically the channel where signal exists. Therefore, if the modality would change
the signal from SXGA to NTSC, the unit can smoothly change the picture on LCD monitor.
◆ Analog Input ⇒ DVI Output
The LCD moniors for DVI input only, are applicable to display analog video signals from the modality.
◆Built-in Growth Knowledge Base
This unit has a knowledge base for various kind of video format including non-standard ones, and keeps
analyzing what type of signal is coming in.
Once the signal type is detected, the unit converts the input signal to the most suitable DVI format using the knowledge.
If default knowledge base can not decide the signal type, user can add new one onto the built-in knowledge base.
◆Entirely an OSD Menu Opeartion
Parameter setting, operation and other manual actions to the unit are done through the On Screen Display Menu.
This unit carries analog signals, but has no adjusting knobs.

[ Note]
Although this is a single channel processing unit, it provides two signal inputs.
Different type of connectors are used in each input to comply with the cables from the modality. Manual channel selection is not available.
The GBR444 format is applied to non-interlaced color video signals, so the R , G and B has the same signal bandwidth.
The interlaced color video signal is converted to noninterlaced by frame compensation. This conversion process is made under GBR422 format,
therefore, the signal bandwidth of B and R is a half of G's.
The 1080/60i video signal is the fastest signal for the conversion. Further interlaced signal may not be processed.
